We're not sure how to explain our philosophy to you; the best way to discover it is by stopping by Podere I' Caldino. You'll experience the farming lifestyle, taste our products, and enjoy a glass of wine.

The Lands

Farming tradition passed down through generations. Podere I' Caldino is located in the hills southeast of Florence, in the municipality of Rignano Sull'Arno, in the heart of Tuscany, a place devoted to agriculture since ancient times.

The Olive Grove

The farm's land is primarily cultivated with olive trees. Due to the plots' good exposure to the sun, the area is considered ideal for olive growing.

The olive trees you can find on our land are represented by the typical Tuscan varieties such as Frantoio, Moraiolo and Leccino, and are cultivated using traditional systems.

We follow the principles of organic farming, fertilizing the soil with organic products and leaving the soil grassy.

The Vineyard

The vineyard still boasts centuries-old vines. The varieties grown here are Sangiovese, Colorino, Merlot, Trebbiano Toscano, Canaiolo, Morellino, and Malvasia Bianca.

The soil has a clayey texture with a sensitive skeleton (sand 28%, silt 29%, clay 43%)

The Garden

Our vegetables and legumes are grown on land that's left fallow for part of the year and follows a crop rotation method. This method allows the soil to regenerate and utilize different nutrients over time.

Our vegetables may not look as good as chemically treated ones, but at least we can be sure they're healthier.
